Lotte Hotel Jeju opens the Private Beach Lounge on Jungmun Saekdal Beach on July 20. The lounge is comprised of a book cafe, a foot spa, a nail care zone and a tanning zone. The cafe offers a variety of books and magazines, while the spa will help ease fatigue. Manicure and pedicure services are available at the nail care zone, and guests can get their body tanned on a sun bed or on a hammock at the tanning zone. The lounge, opening from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m., is exclusive and complimentary for hotel guests. Cold mineral water and summer refreshments are available. The Millennium Seoul Hilton’s Chinese, Japanese and Mediterranean all-day dining restaurants, Taipan, Genji and Cilantro, present health-smart summer vitality foods in July and August. Taipan offers a variety of spicy Sichuan dishes, including sauteed fillet of beef with hot sauce and Sichuan-style sauteed shrimp, at 29,000-78,000 won, along with a set menu. Genji features Katsura Matsuri, such as steamed eel and sea bass with vegetables in a hot pot, at 40,000-150,000 won. A nine-course set menu is also available at 150,000 won. Cilantro has Korean vitality foods, including chicken, and ginseng oxtail stew, in its regular buffet menu priced at 46,000 won for lunch and 50,000 won for dinner. Seoul Palace HotelThe Seoul Palace Hotel has been promoted to a five-star hotel from four-star, passing the rating inspection by the Korea Tourism Association. Since the opening in 1982, the local hotel has developed as a business hotel in southern Seoul. It invested 27 billion won in renovation for the last few years, upgrading guest rooms, lobby, banquet rooms and restaurants. Executive floors, rooms designed in traditional Korean house-style and photo works by photographer Kim Jung-man are among the new features, while more upgrades are scheduled next year. The hotel will also hold a Korean food cooking class for foreigners living in Seorae Village near the hotel. It also plans to expand by developing its business hotel or serviced residence brands. The package includes a night in a deluxe room, breakfast buffet for two at Cafe Amiga, and a 30-minute aroma back treatment program for two at Medical Square IP Esthetics. It is priced at 299,000 won and an additional 100,000 won will allow 60-minute whole body treatment for two. Free access to the fitness club and indoor pool is also available. The Summer Story Package includes one night stay at a deluxe room, breakfast for two, free access to the fitness center, swimming pool and sauna, free Internet use and a gift of beach towel. It is priced at 175,000 won except for Saturday, when it is 205,000 won. The Cool Summer Package has similar offerings except for breakfast, but includes three admission tickets to the outdoor pool and indoor kids park event at ConvensiA for 180,000 won. Breakfast buffet is available at an additional 20,000 won per person. The Romantic Summer Package features a deluxe room stay, dinner at the Italian restaurant BENE, and free access to facilities for 230,000 won. An additional 30,000 won is applied on Saturday.
