500-year-old female mummy uncovered

The mummy from the early Joseon dysnasty has been uncovered at an industrial site in Osan, Gyeonggi Province, in South Korea.

It remained approximately 500 years, and this female mummy believed to be a wife of the high-level government officer buried with handbag, finest clothing, and decent hairstyle. Those items expect to be used as precious study materials for researching life style of Joseon dynasty.

Husband’s tomb was founded same area as well. There is possibility to be a couple mummies.

500년된 조선시대 미라 발굴

조선시대 사망한 것으로보이는 미라가 경기도 오산 산업단지 현장에서 발굴됐다.

1500년대 (조선전기)에 사망한것으로 추정되어 사망한지 500년은 넘어보인다. 이 여성 미라는 조선시대 고위 관직의 사대부가의 부인으로 보여지며 가방, 옷, 머리 모양 등과 함께 묻혀 조선시대 생활 양식을 연구하는데에 귀한 자료로 쓰여질 것으로 예상된다.

남편의 묘 역시 근처에서 발견되었으며 부부 미라가 발굴 될 가능성도 배제하지 않고있다.
