Celebrity couple Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are taking legal action against News Group Newspapers for spreading rumors that they have split up.

Lawyer Keith Schilling said News Group's News of the World failed to give a retraction and an apology that were demanded by the Hollywood superstars.

News of the World said in an article last month that Brangelina, as Pitt and Jolie are known, agreed to separate and share custody of their six children.

The couple has three biological children and three adopted ones. The publication also said that the couple consulted with divorce lawyer Sorrell Trope to work out an agreement about splitting their close to $ 320-million combined fortune. Trope has denied ever meeting Pitt and Jolie.

The celebrity couple, who has yet to marry, called the rehashed news "false and intrusive." Pitt and Jolie were seen together with adopted son Maddox during Sunday's Super Bowl in Miami, evidence that all is well between the power couple.

케이트 실링 변호사는 8일 두 사람이 지난 1월말 자신들의 결별설을 보도한 영국 주간 타블로이드 신문 `뉴스 오브 더 월드`를 상대로 소송을 제기할 것이라고 밝혔다.

뉴스 오브 더 월드는 두 사람의 결별설에 대해 구체적으로 6명의 아이들에 대한 양육권 문제와 이혼 담당 변호사를 찾아간 일, 재산 분할 문제까지 언급했다.

두 사람은 해당 매체의 결별설 보도 이후 대변인을 통해 결별은 사실무근이라는 공식 입장을 전했다.

8일에는 입양한 아들 매덕스와 함께 일명 브란젤리나 커플이 마이애미에서 열린 슈퍼볼 경기를 관람하러 가는 장면이 포착되어, 두 사람이 여전히 건재함을 보여주었다.
