Baek Halts Concert
Top singer Baek Ji-young postponed her concert Sunday due to illness.
During her dinner concert at the Convention Center of the 63 Building in Yeouido, Seoul, the 33-year-old complained of a high fever and dizziness from a bad cold and hypotension, and stopped the concert after singing just five songs.
About 650 spectators were present at the concert and they had already finished dinner before the performance began.
Baek was an hour late for the concert due to emergency treatment at a hospital and a comedian who had been invited as a guest was entertaining the audience instead of her.
After the concert began, she showed extreme weariness. After singing her fifth song, she told the audience that ``I am very sorry for being on stage despite being sick. I won't be able to continue my performance.''
An official at WS Entertainment, her agency, said the spectators will be refunded because her performance was halted midway through her concert.
Tickets for the dinner concert were 200,000 and 220,000 won.
Experts speculate that Baek and her agency suffered from losses of nearly 200 million won, including 70 million won in expenses for the stage, sound and staff.
백지영 몸 아파 공연 중단
백지영이 27일 건강상의 이유로 콘서트를 중단했다.
백지영은 서울 여의도 63빌딩 컨벤션센터에서 열린 '백지영 디너 파티' 콘서트 도중 저혈압에 따른 어지럼증을 호소하며 5곡만 부른 뒤 공연을 중단했다. 이날 공연장에는 650여명의 관객이 입장한 가운데, 공연이 시작되기 전 관객들은 저녁 식사를 마친 상태였다.
백지영은 이미 병원에서 응급치료를 받느라 공연장에 1시간 가까이 지각을 했고, 그 사이 게스트로 초대된 개그맨이 황급히 대타로 무대에 올랐다.
공연장에 도착한 백지영은 힘겹게 무대를 이끌어갔고 결국 5번째 노래를 부른 뒤 객석을 향해 "이런 모습으로 여러분 앞에 서게 돼 너무 죄송할 뿐이다"며 "공연을 더 이상 할 수 없을 것 같다"며 공연 중단을 선언했다.
소속사인 더블유에스 엔터테인먼트의 한 관계자는 "공연이 중단된 만큼 입장 관객에 대해서는 환불을 할 것"이라고 밝혔다.
이날 디너 파티의 티켓은 R석이 22만원, S석이 20만원이었다. 여기에 공연 무대와 음향, 스태프의 비용 등이 7000여만원에 달해 이날 공연 중단에 따른 손해액은 2억원에 이를 전망이다.
