Let's get into more specifics about saju and feng shui. Feng shui involves balancing yin-yang and five elements by appropriate placing of the graves and houses including city, building and interior decorations. It is to maximize the vital qi for the better health, business and people relations.
Then, how is feng shui connected to saju?
Both analyzes and balances yin-yang and the five elements around us. If saju is to review heaven and earth's energy by one's birth year, month, day and time, feng shui is to review one's living and grave places and the allocations of interior pieces.
Now that we saw one connection between the saju and the feng shui, it would be interesting if we find ways to create a synergy effect by utilizing the benefits of both.
Practically, let's follow the steps to understanding yourself in association with five elements energy.
1. The first step is to get your saju (four pillars) by your birth year, month, day and time. You don't have to worry about plotting the saju as it can be easily calculated by the help of internet.
2. The second step is to confirm your day stem. It is one of the 10 celestial stems (gap wood, yin wood, byeong fire, jeong fire, mu earth, gi earth, gyeong metal, sin metal, im water and gye water). It means that you were born with the energy of one of five elements and it is either yang or yin.
3. The third step is to read your month branch, which tells you the environmental energy when you were born. It is one of the 12 terrestrial branches. And again it tells you one of five elements.
4. Once you get the basic saju information about yourself, you will be able to analyze five stars, friend (same as your day stem), expression, money, career and knowledge. They can also be called as parallel, output, wealth, power, resource respectively. See the chart below.
According to your personal desire, when you are in need of money fortune, see what element stands for your money fortune. For example if you are born with the earth element as your day stem, water means your money fortune, and black represents water energy as a color indicator. If you want to get employed, wood-green or blue stands for your career fortune.
In this case, a plant pot, for example, can be a help for your career fortune. Or, wearing black suit, when you handle financial issues, may give you a money fortune. Imagine whatever interior pieces or daily activities will enhance the needed energies.
Now let's move our imagination toward the directions of each elements and fortune stars. See below chart for the properties of 5 elements.
