K-pop singer BoA will turn into a record producer in Japan next year, 10 years after her debut.
According to SM Entertainment, the singer’s agency, BoA has decided to take charge of producing her seventh album in Japan to be released on Jan. 13. This marks the first time that BoA, 23, will be a record producer following her debut in 2000.
The album will contain her own songs as well as numbers written together with another singer.
BoA will also put the track ``Bump Bump,’’ onto the album, her 28th single in Japan, and ``White Wishes,’’ her 29th to be released across the East Sea next month.
She made her U.S. debut in March amid high expectations and has been performing in Japan since July.
BoA plans to hold Christmas concerts in Tokyo on Dec. 4 and 5.
With regard to the possibility of her return to South Korea next year, SM Entertainment said nothing has been decided yet.

보아 프로듀서 변신
톱가수 보아가 내년 데뷔 10주년을 맞아 일본에서 앨범 프로듀서로 변신한다.
보아의 소속사인 SM 엔터테인먼트에 따르면 보아는 내년 1월 13일 발매될 자신의 일본에서의 7번째 앨범 제작을 직접 맡기로 결정한 것으로 알려졌다. 올해 23살인 보아가 지난 2000년 데뷔 이래 레코드 제작에 나선 것은 이번이 처음이다.
이 앨범에는 다른 가수와 함께 만든 작품 뿐 아니라 자신이 직접 만든 노래도 수록된다.
보아는 또한 일본에서의 28번째 싱글 레코드인 ``범프 범프’’와 다음 달 발매될 29번째 싱글 ``지키고 싶은 하얀 희망’’도 이 앨범에 넣을 예정이다.
지난 3월 높은 기대 속에 미국에 진출한 보아는 후반기에는 일본에서 활동을 해왔다.
보아는 다음 달 4-5일 도쿄에서 크리스마스 콘서트를 갖는다.
SM 엔터테인먼트는 보아가 내년에 한국으로 돌아올 가능성에 대해 아직 결정된 게 없다고 밝혔다. |
