2NE1

The ``Female Big Bang,'' 2NE1, rose to stardom Friday by coming out on top at the ``Music Bank'' on KBS-TV.

The girl band took first place with ``I don't care,'' the flagship song of its first mini-album, beating Girls' Generation and Lee Seung-gi.

People's enthusiasm with the four-member group proved strong as it shot to top only one week after appearing at the KBS music program.

Upon being awarded on stage, 2NE1 members expressed thanks for Yang Hyun-suk, president of YG Entertainment, the group's agency, and other company officials.

Even before its debut, the group was the talk of the town. It swept top places in online music charts with ``Lollipop,'' a song sung together with Big Bang, YG Entertainment's big name, to promote LG's Cyon phone.

The group made its official debut in early May with ``Fire'' that dominated the online music world. Now ``I don't care'' is grabbing top places in several online music sites such as Dosirak and Soribada.

2NE1, which is pronounced ``to anyone'' or ``twenty-one,'' stands for ``New Evolution of the 21st Century.'' 2NE1 consists of CL, Minzy, Bom and Dara (Sandara Park).
