The director of "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen," has formally apologized for being late to a series of events, including its premiere, in Seoul during the publicity of the film last week.

Michael Bay sent a note of apology to Korean Transformers' fans last week via CJ Entertainment, distributor of the film in Korea, for his "late arrival to the Seoul premiere and press conference."

"The reasons for being late to the premiere involved traveling from other country and not allowing time for airport delays, city traffic and hotel check-in," he said.

"The cause of my being late 30 minutes to the press conference following day was singularly due to me. The day before, I pull a muscle in my back. I was in serious pain. Simple things like getting dressed turned into laborious events, even climbing the stairs to the conference podium _ where I did not want anyone to know," Bay said.

"I am truly sorry for any offence caused, and I am looking forward to my next visit to Korea," he added.

^Bay was severely criticized for being late to the premiere event and press conference last week, when he visited Seoul to publicize his latest film, "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen" with main actors, such as Shia LaBeouf and Megan Fox.
