Music fans can enjoy the autumn weather with refreshing sounds at the first Grand Mint Festival in Seoul next month. Forty-nine Korean and foreign musicians will be performing at the Grand Mint Festival on Oct. 6 and 7 at Olympic Park, southern Seoul.
Fans can gather to listen to different musical genres, from rock to jazz, R&B to electronica, at the two-day event. Korean acts such as Lee Seung-hwan, Big Mama, My Aunt Mary and Windy City will be performing alongside Japanese jazz groups Paris Match and Venus Peter, American band The Cloud Room and Germany's Space Kelly.
Grand Mint Festival is a continuation of last year's Mint Festa, which was organized to promote the Web site www.mintpaper.com. It is meant to promote modern, sophisticated lifestyle among the youth through music and culture.
The Grand Mint Festival will have three areas, Mint Breeze stage, Loving Forest Garden and Blossom House, where artists will perform simultaneously throughout the day.

Cloud Room
On Oct. 6, the festival opens with ``tea time DJ-ing'' from Jinu of Roller Coaster at 11 a.m. at the Mint Breeze stage. The same stage will feature performances from Big Mama with Serengetti, Mongoose, Peter Pan Complex, Omega 3,Windy City and The Cloud Room.
The Cloud Room is an acclaimed indie band, best known for the energetic ``Hey Now Now,'' from New York City.
Sweetpea, a former member of Delispice, will be the headliner at the Loving Forest Garden. Other acts performing at the same stage are Lee Sang-eun, Lee Han-chul, Jang Jae-hyung, Linus Blanket and Paris Match, a popular Japanese jazz group.
The Blossom House will feature performances artists such as DOT, Plastic People, Sogyumo Acacia Band, Golden Pops, Apls and Casker.

Casker
On Oct. 7, the Mint Breeze stage will be headlined by Korean rocker Lee Seung-hwal. Other performers include The Melody, Yoon Sang, Mot, My Aunt Mary, Peppertones and Venus Peter from Japan.
At the Loving Forest Garden, Lucid Fall is the headliner act. Korean electronica group Humming Urban Stereo, Sweater and Space Kelly will also perform on stage. Space Kelly is the stage name of Ken Steen, an indie German musician who released an album of his favorite cover versions in Korea in 2006.
Cabinet Singalong, The Canvas, Dear Cloud, Deb, Nastyona, No Reply, Slow 6, The Smiles and Vodka Rain will be performing at the Blossom House.

Big Mama
According to organizers, each of the musicians will perform for 30 minutes to 90 minutes. The headline acts will perform for at least one hour.
If you buy in advance, the two-day tickets cost 66,000 won and one-day ticket costs 44,000 won. On the day of the event, the ticket booth will open at 9 a.m. Tickets cost 70,000 won for two-day pass and 50,000 won for one-day pass.
