Gino's NY Pizza owner Eugene Kim founded Gino's in the back alleys of Itaewon in 2016 with a mission to bring New York pizza to Seoul. Fast forward to today and Gino's bakes slices and pies in Seoul at pizza shops in Itaewon and Apgujeong, and in Busan near Haeundae Beach. Gino's NY Pizza is so authentic you'll understand why Gino's reigns supreme with pizza enthusiasts across Korea.
You can smell the aroma of freshly baked pizza from a few doors down, but it really hits you once you enter. A neon sign on the wall proclaims the restaurant's motto, "In Crust We Trust." Their dedication to authenticity starts with the ingredients, like California tomatoes, imported cheeses and extra virgin olive oil. Gino's signature pizza dough is made entirely in-house using imported high-gluten flour. Almost everything is made from scratch and vegetables are sourced locally for freshness. Each pizza is produced with the restaurant's signature hand-tossed dough and then baked on a stone deck at blazing temperatures of 300 degrees Celsius to give it the distinctively crispy thin crust of New York-style pizza.
The menu at Gino's has all the classics for traditional pizza lovers along with some novel concoctions for more adventurous pizza enthusiasts. Whole pies are available in regular and large sizes. Gino's classic NY pies include their signature Plain Cheese pizza, Pepperoni, NY Margherita and The Butcher with pepperoni, Italian sausage, and bacon. The signature pies include some house favorites like the Brooklyn's Best and NY Supreme, but Gino's creativity really shines with house inventions like the Meatball Parm or Spinach Alfredo pizzas. If you are picky, you can of course top your pizza any way you please ― so you really can't go wrong.
While Gino's NY Pizza is best-known for its pizza, the menu offers a tasty variety of appetizers and add-ons. The wings, which come in a variety of flavors, are the ideal companion for a pizza date. You can select their traditional Hot Buffalo wings or give their Creamy Parmesan Garlic, Honey BBQ Glaze or Lemon Pepper wings a try. Not to be missed are Gino's signature NY Style Garlic Knots, made of pizza dough tied in knots and tossed in olive oil, butter, fresh garlic and chili flakes. Super pro tip, when you find yourself in the mood, treat yourself to Gino's home-style Italian Lasagna and Italian meatballs ― they are amazing!
With its original New York-style pizzas, wings and appetizers, Gino's NY Pizza brings the cuisine of New York City to Korea. Gino's is open for lunch daily from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. and then again for dinner from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. (9 p.m. Sundays).
