Just when the 2018 World Cup was in danger of turning into a nightmare for South Korea, the team defeated world champion Germany 2-0 in an unbelievable Wednesday afternoon in Kazan.

2018 러시아 월드컵이 한국에 악몽으로 변하는 위험에 직면했을 때, 세계 챔피언 독일을 2대 0으로 이기는 믿을 수 없는 일이 수요일 오후 카잔에서 일어났다.

Germany, as expected, had most of the possession in the first half ― over 70 percent ― but Korea had some real chances.

The world number one team turned the screw after the break and goalkeeper Cho Hyun-woo, who has been the team's best player in Russia, pulled off an outstanding diving save to deny a header from the unmarked Leon Goretzka that looked destined for the back of the net.

세계 1위 독일은 후반전에 압박의 강도를 높였고 러시아에서 최고의 활약을 펼쳐온 골키퍼 조현우는 골이 간절한 고레츠카의 노마크 상황의 헤딩 슈팅을 막아내는 대단한 다이빙 선방을 해냈다.

And then everything went crazy in added time at the end. A Korean corner found its way to Kim Young-gwon and the defender scored from close range.

그리고 경기 막판 추가 시간에 말도 안 되는 일이 일어났다. 한국의 코너킥이 수비수 김영권에게 흘러갔고 그가 근거리에서 골을 넣었다.

Germany pushed forward even more with goalkeeper Neuer leaving his area behind to go deep in the Korean half.

독일은 더 전진했고 골키퍼 노이어 마저도 자기 진영을 떠나 한국 진영으로 들어왔다.

He was dispossessed by Ju Se-jong whose long pass was caught by Son who rolled the ball into an empty net.

그는 주세종에게 공을 뺏겼고 그의 롱패스를 받은 손흥민이 빈 골문으로 공을 굴려 넣었다.
