Various cultural events are expected to take place at Joseon-era (1392-1910) palaces and Cheong Wa Dae (the former presidential office) in Seoul to celebrate spring's arrival.
조선시대 궁궐과 서울 청와대(전 대통령 집무실)에서 봄을 맞아 다양한 문화행사가 열릴 예정이다.
Flowers are expected to blossom at the end of this month before reaching peak bloom in April, according to the state-run Cultural Heritage Administration (CHA) Royal Palaces and Tombs Center.
국영 문화재청 궁능유적본부에 따르면 봄꽃은 이달 말에 피기 시작해 4월에 절정을 이룰 것으로 예상된다.
Gyeongbok Palace will offer its spring nighttime tour program from April 5 to May 31, the government agency said Thursday.
경복궁에서는 4월 5일부터 5월 31일까지 봄철 야간 관람 프로그램을 운영한다고 목요일 정부 기관이 밝혔다.
The night view of Gyeongbok Palace in spring is well-known for its stunningly illuminated cherry blossoms.
봄철 경복궁의 야경은 아름답게 빛나는 벚꽃으로 잘 알려져 있다.
Up to 2,500 visitors will be admitted per evening. Reservations are required and can be made through the 11Street website.
매일 저녁 최대 2,500명의 방문객이 입장 가능하다. 예약은 필수이며 ‘11번가 티켓' 홈페이지를 통해 가능하다.
Online reservations will open on March 29 for April admissions and April 26 for May admissions, with each person limited to two tickets.
4월 입장권은 3월 29일, 5월 입장권은 4월 26일에 온라인 예매가 오픈되며 구매 가능한 표는 1인당 2매로 제한된다.
Each day 200 tickets will be set aside for foreigners to purchase at the Gwanghwamun Ticket Office.
광화문 매표소에서 매일 200장의 표를 외국인을 위해 따로 보관할 예정이다.
There are no nighttime tours on Mondays and Tuesdays, and visits will also be restricted from April 26 to May 2 due to the Royal Culture Festival. The opening hours are from 7 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., with the last admission time set at 8:30 p.m.
매주 월, 화요일에는 야간 관람이 없으며, 궁중문화제 행사 때문에 4월 26일~5월 2일에도 방문이 제한될 예정이다. 운영시간은 오후 7시부터 오후 9시 30분까지며 마지막 입장 시간은 오후 8시 30분이다.
"The Spring Gyeongbok Palace Night Tour will provide visitors an opportunity to appreciate the beauty and value of our royal palace. We hope the royal palace continues to serve as a cultural space for the public by developing and operating a variety of experience programs," CHA said.
문화재청은 "봄의 경복궁 야간 투어를 통해 방문객에게 우리 고궁의 아름다움과 소중함을 감상하는 기회를 제공하고 싶다. 앞으로도 다양한 체험 프로그램을 개발 및 운영해 고궁이 누구나 누리는 문화공간으로 활용되도록 노력할 것"이라고 전했다.
