It's a dream for many companies to see their logos on the uniform of globally acclaimed football clubs. Aon Corp. made the dream come true with Manchester United this season, and it kicked off a meaningful charity initiative to celebrate the sponsorship with the Premier League giant.
Aon Korea, a Korean unit of the global risk advisor and human capital consultant, Thursday visited the Sacred Heart Rehabilitation Center for the blind in Chung-ju, North Chungcheong Province, as part of the global charity program by its parent firm to commemorate the sponsorship.
Last month, Aon signed the four-year deal with Manchester United, which allows the company to feature on a new uniform of the football club.
Headed by CEO Cho Soo-kang, executives and employees of the company spent a full day playing various sports with the students and teachers of the school for the disabled youth in celebration of "Aon United Day." They also enjoyed lunch together, and helped clean up the facilities.
Aon Korea also voluntarily collected 1 percent of its workers' salary to raise a fund to donate to the school through Planting Love, a charity organization that supports educational and job-training programs for its students to help them stand on their feet after graduation.
Including Korea, Aon's global network in over 120 countries will participate in the fundraising and volunteer activities in partnership with charity bodies, the company said in a press release.
