North Korea on Friday hurled foul language at South Korean President Park Geun-hye, saying that a day will soon come for her tragic end.
In recent months, the Pyongyang regime has repeatedly thrown expletives at the South Korean leader in anger over Seoul's tough response to the North's fourth nuclear test in January and the long-range rocket launch the following month.
Pyongyang's slander against Park is intended to arouse its people's indignation and hostility toward South Korea and President Park, and divert its people's attention away from their dissatisfaction after the U.N. Security Council's recent sanctions on North Korea.
It is fairly common for North Korea's state-run media to lash out at people that it sees as a threat to the regime.
In an article of the North's main newspaper, the Rodong Sinmun, an unidentified North Korean woman wrote that the Korean Peninsula is rapidly getting into a hegemonic struggle among big powers because of President Park's call to the international community to harshly respond to Pyongyang's provocations.
The writer also denounced the South Korean-American efforts to deploy U.S. military systems on the Korean Peninsula, including Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD).
The newspaper said Park is a "wicked, stupid old woman" and even called her a "psychopath."
"The final judgment day for the Cheong Wa Dae devil is approaching," the newspaper said, adding, "The heavenly punishment for her sin will soon lead her tragic end." The Cheong Wa Dae refers to the presidential office.
More recently, the Rodong Sinmun called Park a "traitor" and a "dotard." It used other vulgar expletives in a full page story critical of her stance on North Korea. (Yonhap)
