Stalking-related murder cases have occurred in Korea multiple times in the span of just a few short months, pressuring the police to come up with stronger response measures to better protect those in danger of becoming the victims of violent crimes.
Following these cases, the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency announced on Wednesday its plan to strengthen its response capabilities for stalking crimes.
Starting from Dec. 16, police will assess the potential risks of stalking cases based on a three-tier system and form a task force to deal with high-risk cases.
