Gaeseong industrial complex / Yonhap |
South Korea cut off electric power transmission to the Gaeseong industrial complex in North Korea Friday, as all 280 South Koreans still there returned home, unification ministry officials said.
Power transmission was stopped at 11:53 p.m. The measure will automatically lead to a halt of water supplies to the complex.
South Korea announced Wednesday that it would suspend operation of the complex in response to the North's nuclear and missile tests. The North responded by seizing all assets in the complex and expelling South Korean personnel.
