Five people have been rescued from a bus caught in a flash flood in Paju, Gyeonggi Province.

Firefighters said Thursday that they rescued four passengers and the driver from the vehicle, which was caught in floodwaters.

No one was seriously injured in the incident.

As heavy rain continues to wreak havoc in Korea's central regions, including the city and the Seoul metropolitan area, the death toll rose to 16 as of Thursday morning.
