The Hyehwadong Filipino Catholic Community, the Filipino organization under the Archdiocesan Pastoral Center for Filipino Migrants, is going to hold the search for Ginoo at Binibining Kalinangang Filipino (Mr. and Ms. Filipino Culture) on Oct. 19 at 3 p.m. at the Tongsong Auditorium.

This event aims to showcase the best of Filipino culture: dances, songs, language, costumes, beauty, values, and traditions; highlight the best practices and characteristics of the Filipino migrants in Korea; and provide a venue for cultural sharing and interaction between Koreans and Filipinos.

It is also to raise funds for the different programs and outreach activities of the community such as hospital and medical assistance, scholarship program and emergency deportation.

Six ladies and five gentlemen shall be vying for the crown. The ladies are Nerie Rivera, Jenny Danting, May Heducos, Analyn Regpala, Sherlaine Sobornizo and Sheryl de Villa. The gentlemen are Mark Brazas, Israel Antonio, Kishore Patrimonio, Joel Batoon and Francis Agustin.

Though beauty and intelligence are equally important in this pageant, it also gives weight to the candidates' beliefs and convictions about the Filipino culture and Christian values. This is reflected in their attitudes from the screening interview to the event itself and during their presentations on stage.

We invite everyone to watch this event and be of big help to the Filipino migrants in Korea who are in need of financial help. The 10,000 won ticket can go a long, long way.

It can help a Filipino migrant in need, give one an opportunity to learn Filipino culture and Christian values while being entertained with a chance to win a lot of valuable prizes in the raffle draw.

For tickets and inquiries, please contact Fr. Alvin B. Parantar, MSP, the Chaplain of the Hyehwadong Filipino Catholic Community. You may also call 010-4922-0870 or 02-765-0870 or email emelyabagat@yahoo.com.
