Calls are mounting for the punishment of producers and distributors of deepfake porn, manipulated pornographic videos and photos, involving female celebrities without their consent.

The petitioner wrote that pornographic content falsely portraying female celebrities can be easily found on social media and internet websites.

"Deepfake porn is evidently a sex crime. Many female celebrities are suffering as a result of this content, which are being illegally sold online," read the petition, demanding tough punishment for producers, distributors and consumers of such content.

The writer added that there were a total of 14,768 deepfake porn videos worldwide as of October 2020 and the number is rapidly increasing, citing a report released by Deeptrace, a Dutch cybersecurity lab.
청원인은 네덜란드의 사이버 보안연구 업체 딥트레이스가 발표한 보고서를 인용해 2020년 10월 기준 전 세계적으로 총 14,768개의 딥페이크 포르노 영상이 있으며 그 수가 빠르게 증가하고 있다고 덧붙였다.
According to the report, about 25 percent of victims of the fake videos were found to be K-pop singers.
해당 보고서에 따르면, 딥페이크 영상 피해자 중 약 25%가 K팝 가수인 것으로 나타났다.
