Black Yak Chairman Kang Tae-sun has organized a long-term education and culture project named "GO BAC Some & Sum" to provide lectures and leisure programs to underprivileged children.

Kang said the project aimed to create a channel to allow everyone to enjoy fair and equal educational and cultural opportunities.

"I will constantly communicate with young students and help them become people who are prepared for the future," said Kang, Saturday, during the opening ceremony of a sports climbing event held as a part of the project.

Kang also gave a speech offering advice to those having a hard time finding a job during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Thirty young supporters of the "GO BAC Some & Sum" project participated in the event along with a youth climbing team. They will help Black Yak with a one-on-one mentoring program for disadvantaged people.

"Kang's speech gave me courage to move forward and face the challenge. I am happy that I am part of Black Yak's culture program and I look forward to it," said Shim Hyun-ji, 22.

Kang also gave scholarships to the members of the youth climbing team and promised to support them.

The program is sponsored by Black Yak Kang Tae Sun Financial Aid Foundation. All leisure programs will be held at a cultural space called the Black Yak Alpine Club Center at Mount Bukhan in Seoul.

Various facilities are available there such as a climbing zone and a seminar room.

Black Yak is a local outdoor clothing maker specializing in products tailored to people interested in outdoor activities. It received 11 awards at the ISPO Awards 2016 in Munich, Germany.

ISPO, a global outdoor sports exhibition, has been held since 1970. Nearly 2,500 brands from 110 countries will take part in the trade fair.
