Kim encouraged the builders there to speed up efforts to complete the factory's construction before Sept. 9, the founding anniversary of North Korea.
According to the KCNA report, Kim personally initiated the construction of a modern oxygen factory that is urgently needed to improve the level of the health care provided to North Koreans.
"He chose the site for the factory in order to enable all hospitals to use hygienically safe quality oxygen for the medical treatment of the people and solved all the problems arising in its construction," the KCNA claimed.
Kim underscored the need to build the medical oxygen factory at the highest level so as to mass-produce high quality oxygen for the hospitals. The leader expressed the need to automate all the production processes.
"All the facilities at the factory should be built in such a way as to ensure that they keep good harmony with the natural environment around it, and they look hygienically and culturally neat and tidy, and the oxygen supply station should be constructed well so that the hospitals in Pyongyang may receive medical oxygen without any inconvenience," he said.
Kim's latest visit to the oxygen factory construction site is the second one in three days to a medicine-related facility.
On May 27, the KCNA reported that Kim visited the Ryugyong General Ophthalmic Hospital under construction in Pyongyang to give instructions. The media outlet said Kim's longterm plan and desire is to provide the people with a modern general ophthalmic hospital. (Yonhap)
