The action-thriller “Vagabond” starring Suzy and Lee Seung-gi will be launched on Netflix in September, according to its production company Celltrion Entertainment, Wednesday.
This will give some 148 million Netflix subscribers in 190 countries a chance to enjoy the SBS TV series.
Don Kang, the director of Korean Content Acquisition at Netflix, said: “We are so thrilled to announce 'Vagabond's' launch on Netflix. This title has a lot to offer, which I believe will definitely generate viewer excitement. Its production quality is top notch and it's packed with detailed cinematic action scenes and impressive VFX (visual effects.)”
Lee plays Cha Dal-geon, a man who has been involved in an aircraft crash that leads him to uncover national corruption. Suzy plays Go Hae-ri, an agent of the National Intelligence Service (NIS).
This is the second time the two have starred together in a TV series. In 2013, they appeared in MBC's “Gu Family Book.”
Lee, 32, rose to stardom as a singer thanks to hit song “Because You're My Woman” in 2004. He has also featured in several hit TV series including “Brilliant Legacy (2009).”
Suzy, 25, debuted as a member of K-pop girl band miss A in 2010. She began forging her acting career in the KBS 2TV drama "Dream High” in 2011.
