Shamans will be kicked out of Mt. Taebaek National Park and their illegal dwellings removed until October.

Mt. Taebaek is one of Korea's “spiritual places,” drawing many shamans who live in makeshift houses there without permission.

“Removal of their illegal dwellings is a must procedure in order to protect our culture and environment,” a park official said.

The shamans were sent notices telling them they would be removed, if they don't go voluntarily.

Last year, 11 illegal dwellings were torn down from Mt. Taebaek.
