Flying 80kg truck wheel kills mother, injures three

A woman was killed when an 80-kilogram wheel flew off a 12-wheeler truck and struck the SUV carrying a family of four, Monday.

The mother, 47, died at the scene. Her husband and two daughters were injured.

The 25-ton truck lost the one-meter diameter wheel in the middle of the West Coast Expressway. It flew across the lane and hit the SUV in the opposite lane.

The wheel smashed into the roof of the SUV, severely damaging it.

The family was heading home after spending the day with parents.

Police are questioning the truck driver.
