An elementary school student is among 10 people who allegedly used hidden cameras to film up women's skirts.

According to the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family, the youth, 13, is in the sixth grade.

A ministry spokesman said the accused used hidden cameras or mobile phones to film women under their skirts on escalators, stairs, on packed public transport or in public bathrooms.

Seoul police have been on special watch for this “digital crime” since 11 June.

Those found guilty face a jail term of up to five years or a 10 million won ($8,996) fine. The under-age suspect will face a lesser sentence.
