Chile, Colombia, Mexico and Peru will hold a joint art exhibition in Seoul from June 21 to Aug. 17.

The exhibition _ co-hosted by the Colombian Embassy and the Korea Foundation _will be at the KF Gallery owned by the foundation, which operates under the wing of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The exhibition will be a part of the KF project "KF Global Bridge: Pacific Alliance Festival! Hola!" aimed to promote the culture of the four South American countries bordering the Pacific Ocean.

The works of two acclaimed photographers _ Fernando Cano Busquets of Colombia and Christian Jamett of Chile _ will be on display.

Busquets' photos show Colombians' everyday life while Jamett's works deal with the descendants of African tribes who have preserved their cultures and traditions.

The exhibition will also feature the works of 13 Peruvian photographers and ancient Mexican manuscripts.

KF Executive Vice President Kim Seong-in said the exhibition would help build a foundation for mutual cultural exchanges.
"We hope that the active cultural cooperation to make this special event possible will further strengthen the ties between Korea and the four Latin American nations."

Colombian Ambassador to Korea Juan Pablo Rodriguez Barragan said the cultural and creative industries had high potential to boost the Pacific Alliance's economy.

"It is in this framework that this important event takes place with the support and help of the KF to strengthen the relationship between the countries of the Alliance and Korea," he said.
"It is the first coordinated cultural event of the Pacific Alliance countries in Korea and probably the first of many that will improve the exchange and knowledge of our cultures."

"KF Global Bridge: Pacific Alliance Festival! Hola!" consists of three programs, including a film festival and an outdoor dance performance.

The film festival began on June 5 and will run through July 25.

The screenings in Seoul will run at the KF seminar room or Hanbit Square next to Cheonggye Stream.

The screenings will feature "Gloria!" (2013, Chile), "No Se Aceptan Devoluciones" (2013, Mexico) and "Viejos Amigos" (2014, Peru).

The KF's third program is an outdoor dance performance at Hanbit Square from July 7 to 8.

Dance troupes will perform salsa and other Latin American dances.

Meanwhile, the Chilean Embassy in Korea invited Chilean artist Maria Vila and displayed her collaborative installation titled "Secreteo" in early June at Korea University and Mojeongyo Bridge on Cheonggye Stream.

The goal of "Secreto" is to discover the secrets of people from different backgrounds and cultures and analyze the secrets using social, geographic, cultural and idiosyncratic principles.

People were invited to learn others' secrets _ written in messages _ and share their own, thus widening the circulation of the secrets.
