August is the month for unforgettable summer nights and summer festivals are in full swing all over Korea to cater to beachgoers.

Busan Beach Festival (Thur-Sun)
The "Busan Beach Festival" is already under way and will continue until Sunday. Events include "Rock Day," a star-studded concert featuring K-pop stars such as Coyote, DJ Koo and Daybreak on Haeundae Beach Thursday.
Gwangalli Beach will have a dance festival from Friday to Sunday. It will include a music competition featuring foreign DJs and teenage bands, and the "2017 Night Race in Busan," a run from Gwangalli Beach to Bexco on Saturday night.

Korea Pop Festival (Fri-Wed)
The glamorous "Korea Pop Festival" has a star-studded lineup and will be held at Cheongpodae Beach, Taean, from Friday to August 9.
Sea the World Festival (Aug. 27-30)
The marine sports festival "Sea the World" will make a splash in Geoje, South Gyeongsang Province, from Aug. 27 to 30. Activities include dragon boats, kayaks, fin swimming, beach futsal, jet surfing and children's slides.
The "Sangju Summer Festival" kicks off at Eunmorae Beach, Sanju, from Aug. 12 to 15. It will have a music festival featuring top K-pop musicians.
Yeosu Night Fireworks Festival (Aug. 11-12)
Yeosu, a coastal city in South Jeolla Province, will host the second "Yeosu Night Fireworks Festival" on Aug. 11-12 near Yi Sun-shin Square. It will showcase a colorful harmony of fireworks, lights and lasers.
Playground Djing Festival (Friday)
"Playground Djing Festival – Passionate Night" will excite beachgoers at Jinha Beach, Ulsan, on Friday. It will be a club party catering to those in their twenties.
Mangsang Night Festival (until Aug. 15)
The ambience of the '80s will breeze through Mangsang Beach in Gangwon Province on Friday-Saturday. Amateur folk-rock groups will perform over the two days. And the beach will transform itself into a romantic dating venue featuring music from contemporary jazz artist Danny Jung, Lee Byung-ju and others on Aug. 14.

Naksan Beach Festival (Aug. 28-31)
The heat is on at Naksan Beach, Yangayang, with the "Mister Ocean Contest" from Aug. 28 to 31. About 24 models with defined six-pack abs will compete for the title on Aug. 28. A grand fireworks display will mark the festival's opening. Female idol groups and bikini models will attend on Aug. 29. On the last day, vocalist Na Sang-do and diva Seul Ha-yoon will perform in the "Naksan Beach Sing-off."
