Korea Creative Content Agency (KOCCA), a state-run agency designed to promote Korean cultural content, is looking to form a civic engagement group to seek opinions on its management and other related issues. It will be recruiting a total of 20 university students from across the country to constitute the group.

"We plan to take in the voices of the people through the civic engagement group and apply these valuable, innovative ideas in running our agency," said Jung Kyung-mi, the acting president of the agency. "As a public organization, KOCCA will be at the forefront of making innovative changes and creating social values that will meet the high standards of the public."

The selected students will be participating in the civic engagement group for three months starting in July. They will observe and examine the agency's administration and its business to spot any issues that need improvement and will provide feedback or new opinions from the citizens' perspective.

This year's group will have two categories of activities: one focusing on innovative changes for the agency's overall direction and the other focusing on its local business.

The group will take part in six activities: presenting innovative ideas regarding the agency's management, participating and monitoring one of the agency's events in order to give feedback, competing in a contest for innovative ideas, and bridging organizations or platforms to help solve local issues.

"KOCCA will continue to make efforts to communicate with the public and strive to improve through applying the civic engagement group's excellent agenda to our management," the agency said.

After last year's civic engagement process, the agency has successfully applied a total of eight suggestions made through the activities to its business plan for this year. Following the opinions on the lack of cultural content designed for elderly people, it added a new category in this year's annual gaming content sponsorship program to support businesses that specifically develop content for the elderly.

KOCCA has also taken suggestions to support young people who are interested in pursuing jobs in the creative field, and it is set to launch a new mentoring program in June to help guide teens interested in a career in the content industry.

The details of this year's civic engagement activities and applications to take part in the group can be found on KOCCA's website. Submissions are due at 6 p.m. on June 11.
