U.S. premium burger franchise Shake Shack Burger will open its first Korean branch in Gangnam, Seoul, on July 22.
Koreans have been eagerly awaiting the burger franchise since last December when SPC Group, the nation's largest bakery company, entered an exclusive contract with Shake Shack Enterprises International.

The anticipation was heightened when SPC opened the restaurant branch's SNS page on Facebook and Instagram in June. Hoardings at the restaurant's site on Gangnamdaero also sparked interest.
Opening at 11 a.m., the restaurant will serve the same burgers from its original menu, such as Shack Burger, Smoke Burger and Shroom Burger.
