FACE of Asia 2020 in Seoul ― Asia's largest model-hunt project ― has started.

The Asia Model Festival Organizing Committee (AMFOC) said Wednesday that the competition would be online via YouTube and TikTok to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

More than 70 contenders from 24 Asian countries will be asked to submit their profile videos and clips of their runway shows, among others, to complete missions and survive. They will also have to sing K-pop boy band BTS's "With Seoul" ― written to promote Korea's capital city ― in Korean and English.

The contestants will be graded based on aggregated scores from industry experts (50 percent) and voting from AMFOC's mobile app (50 percent).

The winner, who will receive 100 million won ($86,000), will be announced on the day of the final competition ― Dec. 4.

"I look forward to see talents with global competitiveness," Yang Eui-sig, the chairman of the Seoul-based AMFOC, said.

FACE of Asia is the first event of the Asia Model Festival (AMF), an annual event to pick Asia's next top models and build cultural ties among Asian countries in the fields of fashion and beauty. It is sponsored by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Seoul city and Seoul Tourism Organization.

AMF also plans to hold Asia Model Awards.
