IMM Asset Management CEO Kim Hyun-jung |
The asset management arm of IMM Investment, a Seoul-based private equity firm, recently finished its legal procedures to start the business. Kim took on the leadership post in recognition of her diverse experience in the investment banking industry. She worked at major overseas investment banks such as UBS, JPMorgan and Deutsche Bank for more than two decades, and is one of a few female experts in the field.
Under the leadership of Kim, the newly launched asset manager aims to seek investment opportunities featuring stable returns. The company plans to develop diverse investment products in traditional assets as well as alternative ones.
"Working at the forefront of Korea's capital market, I have long wanted to introduce good investment products to not just institutional but retail investors," Kim said. "We will offer sustainable investment solutions by taking advantage of our team's decades-long experiences in the industry. This is why IMM Asset Management was established."
Kim received an MBA from Northwestern University, and is recognized for her leadership in the male-dominated investment banking industry here. Along with Kim, IMM Asset Management also hired two other executives ― Vice Presidents Cho Eun-hyung and Lee Yoon-hyung ― both of whom also worked in the global investment banking industry for more than a decade.
