K-pop boy group Tomorrow X Together (TXT) has been nominated in two categories for the 2023 MTV Video Music Awards.
The full list of nominees for the 2023 MTV VMA was announced, Tuesday, on MTV's official website and social media.
TXT is in the running for PUSH Performance of the Year and Best K-Pop awards for the title track "Sugar Rush Ride" from their fifth mini-album "The Name Chapter: Temptation" released in January.
The PUSH Performance of the Year award recognizes the most outstanding artist who has been selected for MTV's PUSH campaign, where one artist is chosen each month by MTV for in-depth interviews, performances and digital content. TXT was the MTV PUSH campaign's artist of the month in April.
TXT will be competing against 12 other musicians for the award, including JVKE, who reached number 11 on the US Billboard Hot 100 and number 19 on the UK Official Singles Chart; Sam Ryder, who had the most TikTok followers of anyone in the UK from 2020 to 2022; and Ice Spice, whose collaboration with Nicki Minaj for "Barbie World" has become a smash global hit.
This is the third year that TXT has been named as a finalist for the Best K-Pop award, after earning their first nomination in the category just four months after their debut in July 2019 with the track "Cat & Dog" from their first EP "The Dream Chapter: STAR." Their second nomination came the following year for their title track "Run Away" from their first studio album "The Dream Chapter: MAGIC."
The 2023 MTV Video Music Awards will be held on September 12 at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey and will be broadcast live on MTV.
