Disney+'s new Korean-language original series, "Kiss Sixth Sense," will offer a lighthearted romantic comedy to viewers, the series' lead actor Yoon Kye-sang said. "Nowadays, a lot of series seem to carry serious, dark plots. But this series is high-spirited and funny and has such good energy. Viewers will be able to enjoy the series lightheartedly," Yoon said during an online press conference for the series, Wednesday.

Based on the webcomic of the same name, the new series, which premiered on Wednesday on the platform, revolves around advertising specialist Hong Ye-sul (Seo Ji-hye), who has a special ability to see another person's future when she kisses them.

One day, she accidentally kisses her mean, hypersensitive boss, Cha Min-hu (Yoon), and sees their future together in bed. Amid the unexpected romance with her boss, Ye-sul is caught in a love triangle when her ex-boyfriend, award-winning director Lee Pil-yo (Kim Ji-seok), reappears in her life.

The 12-part series is led by director Nam Ki-hoon, whose previous works include the 2018 rom-com series "The Beauty Inside," and is scripted by Jeon Yu-ri, who wrote the 2018 romance series "Radio Romance."

The director said he first came across the series through the original webcomic. "I read the webcomic a few years ago and it was interesting. Then later, I got the script (for the series) and I liked how well-scripted the story was and how the characters were multi-dimensional," he said.

"The characters are different from the original work. We tried to make our own characters by adding more reality to it and I'm satisfied with how it came out."

Yoon plays the character of a renowned advertising specialist who has feelings for Ye-sul.

"(My character's) five senses are about 10 times more sensitive than normal people's. He can be a bit hysterical as he is highly sensitive," he said of his character. "This is my first time doing a fantasy romance. I thought that the story of a woman who sees the future and a man who has such senses was interesting and compelling."

As many of the actor's recent works had been dark crime or action, like the 2021 film "Spiritwalker" and the 2021 series "Crime Puzzle," Yoon said he enjoyed the bright ambiance of the set of this series.

"The filming of the series was very lively and everyone had such high energy, so we worked well together, communicating with each other. And because we had such good communications, the series came out well," he said.

Seo noted that Yoon will be showing off his comedy skills through this series. "I've never seen Yoon's comedy while acting. I've always seen him in masculine, tough roles but (in the series) he does a great job with comical acting, so I would just play along with that," she said.

"Kiss Sixth Sense" will release two episodes on Disney+ every Wednesday.
