Sehun of K-pop boy band EXO looks set to have a hectic yet fruitful year.

The 26-year-old has recently joined SBS's upcoming rom-com, "Now, We Are Breaking Up," starring A-listers Song Hye-kyo and Jang Ki-yong. Sehun will have a supporting role and play Hwang Chi-hyung, a designer at a fashion company run by his father. Hwang is also a member of the design team led by Ha Yeong-eun, played by Song. Jang will play opposite Song, appearing as a freelance photographer named Yoon Jae-gook.

The series is about love and parting. It is written by Je In, who was behind the success of "Misty" (2018), and directed by Lee Gil-bok, whose work includes "My Love From the Star" (2013-14) and "Vagabond" (2019).

"We are Breaking Up" is scheduled to premiere in the second half of 2021.

But before making his small screen appearance, Sehun is poised to put out a new album as part of EXO in the coming months. In celebration of the ninth anniversary of its debut, the band floated Thursday a short YouTube video that offered a sneak peek of its upcoming release.

On the clip, the six members ― Xiumin, Baekhyun, Chanyeol, Kai, D.O. and Sehun ― unveiled the filming site for their music video, hinting that the new album has a link to its previous release "Power" (2017).

Sehun debuted as an EXO member in 2012 and has appeared in several movies and dramas including "Dokgo Rewind" (2018). He will also be featured in the upcoming comedy-action film, "The Pirates: Goblin Flag" ― a sequel to the 2014 hit "The Pirates" ― but its release date is being kept under wraps.
