Jennie of K-pop girl group BLACKPINK is the new face of global nail-care brand Dashing Diva.

The company said Thursday it picked Jennie as its model because her image matches well with that of the brand.

"Jennie is not only a leading K-pop star, but also a wannabe for many women in their 20s and 30s," the brand said in a statement. "We believe we will be able to create positive synergy with Jennie."

Jennie will kick off her promotional activities along with the launch of Dashing Diva's new product "Glaze," a cruelty-free gel-nail line with a "radiant and voluminous look." It will be available on the brand's online shopping mall from April 13.

On April 5, Dashing Diva unveiled a video of Jennie on its Instagram prior to the release of "Glaze," drawing extensive attention from fans around the world. The clip had more than 40,000 views as of Monday. The brand is set to disclose another promotional video featuring the star, April 13.

Established in New York in 2001, Dashing Diva entered the Korean market in 2015 and is currently the No. 1 player in the "self-decorating" nail art market here. The brand, which offers various nail care products ranging from nail polishes to artificial nails, previously had singer-actress Suzy as its face.

Jennie debuted as a BLACKPINK member in 2016 with the album "Square One." She began forging a solo career in 2018 with the track "Solo" and took multiple music streaming charts by storm. The YG Entertainment star, whose YouTube channel has more than 6 million subscribers, also models for several other brands including "Chum-Churum" soju and "Vita 500" drink. She is the house ambassador of CHANEL as well.
