Actress Ham So-won, who had appeared with her family on TV Chosun's reality show, "Taste of Wife," apologized Thursday for fabricating some of her stories on the program.

Her apology came a few weeks after being accused of disguising a luxury Airbnb rental in China ― which was featured in an episode of "Taste of Wife" ― as a villa owned by her in-laws. Some also claimed that Ham faked the voice of her mother-in-law's younger sister during a telephone call on the program.

Admitting that "certain parts" of the program had been exaggerated, the actress said on Instagram that she has no excuses.

"Knowing that what I did was wrong, I (recently) quit 'Taste of Wife' to avoid causing more trouble for the program, but I am so sorry to see that the situation has already reached this point," she said. "I want to give my sincere apologies to the viewers as well."

TV Chosun also offered an apology a few hours before her statement.

"We feel a strong sense of responsibility for breaking the viewers' trust," the network said in a statement. "We belatedly realized that some parts of the episodes featuring Ham were exaggerated ― when it comes to personal matters such as properties, we do have some limits in terms of fact checking. But still, we humbly accept people's criticism and will wrap up the current season of 'Taste of Wife' on April 13. We will take this opportunity to make our program more reliable."

Ham, 44, and her Chinese husband Jin Hua, who is 18 years younger, joined the show in 2018 and had enjoyed immense popularity by revealing their family life. But in March, the couple quit abruptly without clarifying the "fake" allegations brought up against them.

Ham made her showbiz debut in 1997 and has appeared in several Chinese TV dramas. In 2018, she tied the knot with Jin Hua. They have one daughter.
