K-pop superstars BTS thanked President Moon Jae-in on Thursday for celebrating their Billboard Hot 100 performance in his Twitter message, tweeting back, "We are deeply touched."

"Wow! We can now fully believe after seeing it with our own eyes. President Moon Jae-in, we thank you for congratulating BTS on its No. 1 victory on Billboard," BTS' Twitter account (@BTS_twt) replied.

President Moon sent two congratulatory tweets Monday on BTS' conquering of the Billboard chart of the 200 most popular albums. It was the first ever Billboard top spot claimed by any Korean musician. It was also the first time a world music genre album clinched the top spot on the chart.

"We are very touched above all as (you) congratulated our ARMY," BTS said, referring to their worldwide fans. "We will make efforts to move more people's heart going forward. Thank you very much."

In the tweets, Moon said, "At the very heart of BTS' outstanding dancing and singing is sincerity. This magical power turns grief into hope and differences into similarity. I congratulate BTS on topping the Billboard 200 with their album titled 'Love Yourself:Tear'."

The chief of BTS' management agency Big Hit Entertainment, Bang Si-hyuk, retweeted the president's message in celebration of the Billboard performance.

On Wednesday (Korean time), BTS scored another Billboard victory, with the main track of its new album "Fake Love" taking a top 10 spot of the highly competitive Hot 100 chart. (Yonhap)
