YG Entertainment's rookie Bang Ye-dam will kick off his K-pop career with a solo act before making his group debut with TREASURE.

The agency unveiled a poster for the artist's digital single "WAYO" on social media Thursday, announcing its release on June 5.

Several YG artists got on board to produce Bang's debut song, including WINNER's Kang Seung-yoon and AKMU's Lee Chan-hyuk.

"Thanks to the fellow YG artists who supported Bang's seven years of training to make a debut, he will be releasing the well-produced, catchy song," YG said. "The song has beautiful, sentimental lyrics and melody, weaved with Bang's unique, sweet vocals."

The artist, 18, made himself known through SBS's hit audition show "K-pop Star" season 2 in 2013. After finishing as a runner-up, he has been housed by YG Entertainment as a trainee.

Bang has joined the 12-member boy band "TREASURE" ― YG's latest rookie group. It is set to debut in July.
