K-pop singer Jung Joon-young was sentenced to six years in prison by the Seoul Central District Court, Friday after being found guilty of multiple counts of rape and filming and sharing the crimes with other entertainers through a mobile chatting service.
Choi Jong-hoon, a former member of FT Island, was sentenced to five years for his involvement.
Indicted in April and June, respectively, Jung and Choi were accused of raping several drunken women and sharing secretly filmed sex videos through online group chats that included Seungri, an ex-member of boy band Big Bang.
The crimes came to light during an investigation of a scandal involving Seungri, who, ironically, has not yet been referred for trial. Prosecutors are yet to conclude their investigation into him.
