Jeongdong Theater will present the dance drama "Lotus, A Flower Comes Out Once More," which features diverse traditional Korean dances and a creative story inspired by Korean folktales.
The show features a story of the beautiful and courageous palace dancer Seo-ryeon and her lover, General Do-dam, the best warrior in the country. With spectacular traditional dance and music, the show will bring the audience to ancient Korea.

‘Gugak Ensemble Festival'

Seoul Metropolitan Traditional Music Orchestra will hold the "Gugak Ensemble Festival" at the Sejong Chamber Hall on Nov. 2 and 3. As the theme of the festival, "Great music becomes one with the sky and the earth," suggests, the orchestra aims to convey the philosophical message of music and nature becoming one through their performances.
In this festival, the audience can enjoy ten pieces of traditional Korean music. To commemorate the 100th anniversary of his birth, famous composer Yoon Yi-sang's two songs, "China picture" and "Together," will have new arrangements and showcased. Four songs written by contemporary Korean composers especially for this festival will also be premiered.

The National Gugak Center continues to feature Korean music and dance performances every Saturday.
For over 30 years, the National Gugak Center has provided audiences with traditional music and dance performances every Saturday. This year, the center aims to present a more profound experience of traditional Korean performing arts, through programs such as "Listening to Traditional Korean Music in Depth" and "Traditional Korean Singing and Dancing Performance for the Enthusiasts." In addition, starting this year, the performances will be staged at the newly renovated Umyeondang Theater, which is designed to convey traditional sounds to audiences without using any speakers or microphones.

With an aim to cast a new light on the implications of garbage in our life, the National Folk Museum of Korea presents a special exhibition, "Junk x User's Guide" until Oct. 31.
This exhibition presents diverse garbage from the past, which closely reflects the lifestyle, culture and society of Korea in its time. Also, the event introduces numerous ways to reuse and recycle garbage, drawing people's attention to pollution problems in Korea and around the world.

‘Moomin Original Artworks Exhibition'

Hangaram Design Museum is holding the special exhibition "Moomin Original Artworks exhibition," which presents paintings and objets d'art of Moomin characters. Photographs of Tove Jansson, a Finnish painter and illustrator who created the Moomin characters, will also be shown in this exhibition. Through around 350 art pieces that cover about 70 years of history of Moomin characters, the exhibition will show visitors how the characters have changed in chronological order. The exhibition will conclude on Nov. 26.

‘Tomas Saraceno: Our Interplanetary Bodies'

The Asia Culture Center is hosting acclaimed Argentinean artist Tomas Saraceno's newly commissioned solo exhibition "Our Interplanetary Bodies" until March 25, 2018.
Saraceno is internationally renowned for his intense collaboration with aerospace engineers and physicists, using research into astrophysics and thermodynamics, as well as the structures of spider webs which visualize social and ecological issues.
The exhibition is composed of nine gigantic, spherical sculptures emitting subtle light. Also a large-scale video projection displays the real-time movement of cosmic dust in the air, while a sound system transforms this movement into an audio-spatial experience. The audience will have an opportunity to become a part of the cosmic web by watching cosmic dust and wandering amidst the monumental sculptures.

In this exhibition, the whole of Daelim Museum, from the entrance to the exhibition spaces and the garden, is transformed into the Selby House. Selby is renowned for his passion for working in diverse fields ranging from fashion to design, film, architecture and cooking. His uniquely upbeat, uninhibited works evoke positive energy and provide artistic inspiration amid the monotony of everyday life.

‘Seoul Biennale of Architecture and Urbanism'

At DDP and Donuimun Museum Village, the inaugural Seoul Biennale will be held until Nov. 5. From this year onwards, the Biennale is planned to be held from September to November every two years.
Seoul Biennale of Architecture and Urbanism 2017 focuses on issues and proposals, rather than on authors and works. Centered on the themes of Nine Commons, the Seoul Biennale is organized along two major sections: exhibitions installed during the Biennale period and the public programs during the corresponding year. The exhibitions consist of Thematic Exhibition, Cities Exhibition and Live Projects Seoul. Public programs include international studios, film and video programs, workshops, lectures and tour programs which offer a communicative platform for visitors.

‘Nude: Masterpieces from Tate'

SOMA museum is holding the special exhibition "Nude: Masterpieces from Tate," which showcases over 100 major representations of nudes, including paintings, sculptures, photographs and prints by renowned artists such as Pablo Picasso, Louise Bourgeois and Sarah Lucas. Each artist in the exhibition offers a different way of looking at the human body. They show how the nude in art has persisted yet changed, shifting shape and acquiring new meanings in the hands of successive generations, from the idealizing painters of the Victorian era to the artist-provocateurs of our time. At the heart of the show lies the world's most famous image of erotic love, Auguste Rodin's sculpture "The Kiss." Never before has this work from the Tate collection left Europe.

‘The Art of the Brick'

"The Art of the Brick" is a global touring exhibition rated by CNN as one of the world's "Must See Exhibitions." These are the first art exhibitions to focus exclusively on the use of LEGO bricks as an art medium and artist Nathan Sawaya has taken it to new heights.
This exhibition has countless colorful LEGO pieces which Sawaya, an award-winning artist, has transformed into whimsical and awe-inspiring creations. Sawaya's ability to transform this common toy into something meaningful, his devotion to spatial perfection and the way he conceptualizes action, enables him to elevate what almost every child has played with into the status of contemporary art.
The exhibition will commence at Ara Art Center on Oct. 5 and conclude on Feb. 4, 2018.

‘ALICE: Into The Rabbit Hole'

"ALICE: Into The Rabbit Hole" will be exhibited for the first time at the Seoul Forest Galleria Foret The Seouliteum until March 1, 2018. The exhibition shows a contemporary perspective of Lewis Carroll's novel(1865) in the form of a 3D theme park. Twenty-three teams, including illustrators, musicians and kitsch installers, participated in creating the "Alice" and "Wonderland" of this exhibition, which offers visitors a fun and exciting experience to escape their rigid daily lives.
Alice's extraordinary adventure is presented in four separated sections, such as "Intro," "Rabbit Hole," "Welcome to Wonderland" and "Alice's Dream." There is also an interactive zone that uses characters and episodes featured in the original novel.

The experience musical created by British writer and illustrator Anthony Browne will be staged at Shinhan Card FAN Square Dream Hall until Dec. 3. Sensible and educational stories for children are introduced in the form of performances and hands-on activities in this musical.
The musical features the story of Toby, and his adventure into the world of mirrors while searching for his missing father with the help of Willy. At Fan Square Dream Hall, there is also a library and a gallery in which audiences can enjoy Anthony Browne's stories and paintings.
