YG founder Yang Hyun-suk has denied on Monday a sex-for-favor allegation raised against him by an investigative journalism program the day before.
In the program's preview, MBC's investigative program "Straight" claimed a worker in the sex industry offered an incriminating testimony against Yang.
Yang and an unknown YG singer met two investors from Southeast Asia in July 2014 at a restaurant in Gangnam, according to the teaser. They were joined by eight other men and 25 women. Among the women, more than 10 belonged to an adult entertainment establishment linked to YG, it said.
The video insisted the group later headed for Club NB in Mapo-gu, western Seoul, which has close ties to Yang. It also showed Yang provided girls for foreign investors there.
The program also claimed one of the two investors was from Thailand, and was involved in the drug scandal implicating K-pop star Seungri.
"Yang was there because he was invited. But he did not mediate prostitution," a spokesperson for YG said Monday.
Police said they would investigate the case after the episode airs on Monday night, if they see any need.
Presumably affected by the controversy, YG's stock price has fallen from 32,800 won to 28,600 won in one day, as of Monday afternoon.
