Dutch documentary "'Ewout & de Keiharde K-pop Wereld (Ewout & Tough K-pop World)" has sparked controversy for being rude to K-pop girl band GWSN.

The controversial episode aired Tuesday (local time) on RTL 5 channel. Ewout Genemans, a Dutch TV producer, attended the seven-piece group's fan signing event and suddenly asked member Seoryoung, "Did you also do plastic surgery? No? Yes?"

He also approached member Lena when she was talking with a fan and asked: "There are a lot of scandals now in the media about K-pop stars. What do you think about it?"

Many viewers said Genemans should have been more polite.

"He kept pushing her (GWSN member) while you can clearly see that she feels uncomfortable," a Twitter user wrote.

They also said the program deviated from its original purpose to introduce K-pop and focused mostly on negative aspects of the culture. It also featured the late Jonghyun, a member of K-pop boy band SHINEE who committed suicide in 2017, to support its claim that "K-pop stars are depressed."

GWSN's agency Kiwi Pop said: "Genemans' interview was not planned, but he suddenly entered the event venue without our staff's consent. We regret the show damaged the team's image by broadcasting the distorted content that went counter to its initial purpose. We are currently grasping the details."

GWSN debuted in 2018 with the lead track "Puzzle Moon." It released its second mini-album, "THE PARK IN THE NIGHT Part 2," in March.
