Ringo Starr's All-Starr Band to play Seoul
Marilyn Manson in town the same week

Ringo Starr And His All-Starr Band will play in Seoul as part of his world tour at
Jamsil Stadium in southeastern Seoul, Saturday at 8 p.m.
It is his first event ever in Korea in his 54-year career.
Starr is the second Beatle to come to Korea, after Paul McCartney played here last year. Starr will play Korea's largest concert venue with guitarist Steve Lukather of U.S. rock band Toto, multi-instrumentalist songwriter/producer Todd Rundgren on guitar and Richard Page of U.S. rock band Mr. Mister on bass, among other musicians.
Korean fans have been anticipating the first concert here of the Beatles’ drummer, who was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a Beatle in 1988 and as a solo artist last year.
The Beatles, from Liverpool, England, are in a class of their own. They produced many hits, from their first single “Love Me Do” to their last album “Let It Be.” Starr sang lead in many of their songs, including the famous “Yellow Submarine.”
During the two-hour performance, Starr will sing some of the Beatles’ hits including “What Goes On,” “Boys” and “Don’t Pass Me By” and the songs on which he sang lead vocals, such as “With a Little Help From My Friends,” “Matchbox” and “Yellow Submarine.”
Another musician who is coming to Seoul this week is Brian Hugh Warner, better known by his stage name Marilyn Manson and for his controversial stage manner.
Despite some voices of concern from religious circles, the American singer, songwriter, musician, composer, actor, painter and author will hold an adults-only concert at Yes24 Live Hall, in Seoul, Friday.
It will be his fourth performance here, coming eight years after his last.

The artist created his stage name by combining the names of iconic actress/model Marilyn Monroe and serial killer Charles Manson.
Manson, representing “shock rock” with his grotesque visuals, shocking performances and strong sound, is one of the most controversial and yet successful industrial rock musicians.
The 47-year-old singer is best known for his band’s 1990s albums, including “Antichrist Superstar” and “Mechanical Animals,” and his violent and shocking lyrics. He has been nominated for four Grammy Awards.
Manson first performed here in 2003, after several of his concerts have been canceled. His second visit in 2005 was part of his “Against All Gods” world tour and his last visit in 2008 was part of the “Rape of the World” concert tour.
