K-pop girl band TWICE's newest song "What is Love?" has risen to the top of five music charts. They renewed hit records, causing people in the music industry to recognize their new song may make another milestone.

The title track for the band's fifth EP has also reached the top on seven streaming services — Melon, Mnet, Bugs Music, Olleh Music, Genie, Naver Music, and Soribada as of Tuesday, a day after it was released.

The band's leading track "What is Love?" is a cheery, up-tempo song, written and composed by Park Jin-young, the founder and president of JYP Entertainment. This is the second collaboration between Park and TWICE, a year after their successful project "Signal."

The lyrics speak about girls dreaming of love after learning about it through books, films and dramas. Garnering over 10 million hits on YouTube within a day, the music video for "What is Love?" covers parodies from several romantic films, including "La La Land" (2016), "Romeo + Juliet" (1996), and "Love Letter" (1995).

    TWICE's new album
The nine-member band's EP album "What is Love?" is riding atop the iTunes album charts in 14 countries, including Indonesia, Philippines, Chile, Argentina, Denmark, and Sweden. The title track has conquered the music charts in Hong Kong, Malaysia, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, and Vietnam, and it looks set to climb higher in other countries.

In Japan, where TWICE has already earned a platinum status since their debut last year, all tracks of the album, including "What is Love?" "Sweet talker," "Ho!" "Dejavu," and "Say Yes" are ranked high on the LINE music song chart.

Since TWICE made its debut in 2015 with "Like Ooh-ahh," the band has garnered phenomenal success and dominated music charts. Their songs "Cheer Up," "TT," "Knock Knock," "Signal," "Likey" and "Heartshaker" swept music streaming charts shortly after they were released.

TWICE plans to hold concerts —"TWICELAND ZONE 2: Fantasy Park" —at Jamsil Arena in southeastern Seoul from May 18 to 20, according to JYP Entertainment. They will hold two more concerts at Saitama Super Arena on May 26 and 27 and at Osaka-Jo Hall on June 2 and 3. The band is also scheduled to perform in Singapore and Bangkok later this year, among others.
