에 린: 그건 왜죠?
ED: Well, I think some of the girls are a little uncomfortable because of what you wear.
에 드: 내 생각엔 당신 옷 때문에 몇몇 여직원들이 불편한가 봐요.
ERIN: (laughs) Is that so? Well, it just so happens I think I look nice. And as long as I have one ass instead of two, I’ll wear what I like if that’s all right with you.
에 린: (웃는다) 그래요? 그렇다면 공교롭게도 난 내 모습이 좋다고 생각해요. 엉덩이가 두 배로 불지 않는 한, 괜찮으시다면 내가 좋은 대로 입을게요.
Ed turns to leave, nodding.
에드는 고개를 끄덕이며 나가려고 돌아선다.
ERIN: Uh hum. You might wanna rethink those ties.
에 린: 음. 당신 넥타이나 재고해 보는 게 어떨까요?
Ed pauses, then leaves the office.
에드는 멈추다가 사무실을 나간다.
25. INT. MASRY & VITITOE. FILE ROOM. DAY
Erin is at her desk, staring bewildered at the files from the box Ed gave her. She sees Anna packing up her things to leave. Erin comes up to ask her about the papers.

에린이 책상에서 일을 한다. 그녀는 에드가 준 상자의 파일을 당혹한 채 바라본다. 그녀는 애나가 짐을 챙기며 나가려는 것을 본다. 그녀는 서류에 대해 물어보려고 애나에게 간다.
ERIN: Anna.
에 린: 애나.
ANNA: Huh-huh.
애 나: 네.
ERIN: With this real estate stuff, could you remind me, ’cause I’m a little confused exactly how we do it. Why are there medical records and blood samples in real estate files?
에 린: 이 부동산 서류 좀 봐 줄래요? 분류법이 도무지 아리송해요. 왜 의료 기록과 혈액 샘플이 부동산 파일에 포함돼 있죠?
ANNA: (exasperated) Erin, you’ve been here long enough. If you don’t know how to do your job by now, I’m not about to do it for you.
애 나: (짜증이 나서) 에린, 여기 있은 지 꽤 됐잖아요? 아직도 자기 일을 잘 모른다면 대신 해줄 생각이 전혀 없어요.
Erin returns to her desk.
에린은 자기 책상으로 돌아온다.
26. EXT. BABY-SITTER’S HOUSE. EARLY EVENING
Erin arrives to pick up her children from the unkempt baby-sitter. She knocks on
the door. No answer. She knocks and calls out. No answer. She looks through the window. It appears no one is there. She panics.
26. 외부. 애 봐주는 사람의 집. 초저녁
에린은 애 봐주는 사람에게서 아이들을 데려가기 위해 도착한다. 문을 노크한다. 대답이 없다. 다시 노크하고 소리친다. 대답이 없다. 그녀는 창문을 통해 바라본다. 아무도 없는 것 같다. 그녀는 공포에 사로잡힌다.
ERIN: Hello? Hello? Matthew? Katie?
에 린: 계세요? 계세요? 매튜? 케이티?
Realizing they are not there, she leaves.
그들이 거기 없다는 것을 깨닫고 그녀는 떠난다.
28. INT. ERIN’S HOUSE. EARLY EVENING
Erin runs into her house calling her children’s names.
28. 내부. 에린의 집. 초저녁
에린이 아이들의 이름을 부르면서 집으로 뛰어들어온다.
ERIN: Matthew? Katie? Matthew? Matthew?
에 린: 매튜? 케이티? 매튜? 매튜?
No answer. Then Erin hears children’s voices from next door.
대답이 없다. 그러다가 에린은 이웃집에서 아이들의 목소리를 듣는다.
29. EXT. ERIN’S HOUSE. EARLY EVENING
She runs outside, trying to locate the voices. She follows the sounds of her
children laughing and talking, towards the back of her yard.
29. 외부. 에린의 집. 초저녁
그녀는 밖으로 뛰어나와 소리나는 곳을 찾으려고 한다. 그녀는 아이들이 웃고 말하는 소리를 따라 뒤뜰로 간다.
GEORGE: (O.S.) It’s over. Wanna bite?
조 지: (화면 밖) 끝났어. 한 입 먹고 싶어?
MATTHEW: (O.S.) Yeah. Sure.
매 튜: (화면 밖) 네. 물론이죠.
30. EXT. GEORGE’S HOUSE. BACKYARD. EARLY EVENING
Erin opens the gate and goes in.
30. 외부. 조지의 집. 뒤뜰. 초저녁
에린이 문을 열고 들어간다.
ERIN: What the hell happened?
에 린: 도대체 무슨 일이죠?

해설
에린은 “Why is that?”이라고 따지고 에드는 “Well, I think some of the girls are a little uncomfortable because of what you wear.”라고 설명을 한다. 여기서 because of your clothes(dress) 대신 what you wear라고 표현해서 감칠 맛이 난다. 에린의 야한 복장이 여직원들의 심기를 거스린 것이다.
그러나 에린은 “Well, it just so happens I think I look nice.”라고 자신감을 피력한 후 “ I’ll wear what I like”라고 말한다. 에드의 심기를 건드리는 말이 될 수도 있지만 마지막에 “if that’s all right with you.”라는 조건이 붙는다. 에드는 물론 “That's all right with me"다. 자신의 성적 매력을 어필하는 뉘앙스가 담겨있으므로 에드는 고개를 끄덕이며 나가려고 돌아선다. 천하의 줄리아 로버츠가 이 대사를 하자, 리얼한 상황으로 느껴진다. 못말리는 에린은 거기서 더 나가서 에드가 사용했던 rethink를 활용해서 “Uh hum. You might wanna rethink those ties.”라고 반격까지 한다. 상대방이 사용한 단어를 사용하고 자신의 상황에 적용해서 말하는 스피킹 학습의 정수를 보여주고 있다.
